Tamarama Ocean Swim Squad

The Tamarama Ocean Swim Squad (TOSS) meets Saturday mornings 10am at the clubhouse during the summer months.

The season kicks off again on the last Saturday in September, being the 29/09/07.

The squad generally swim for 1-2 hours and many swimmers are training for surf life saving, ocean swim races or triathlons. There are varying degrees of competency and programs can be tailored to most levels. It is an enjoyable and safe way to enjoy ocean swimming, and will help develop your ocean swimming skills with regular sessions.

To be eligible to swim with the squad you need to have the Bronze Medallion or be training towards Bronze Medallion accreditation. For further information about this award please go to our Education section on this site.

"A swimmer in the rip is told by a Tamarama patrol captain on a board after patrol to swim south out of the rip. The swimmer replies "I am French, do you speak French", the versatile patrol captain says "a gauche, a droite" pointing south, just get on the board before you speak poisson"--Shay
