Do maintain a professional attitude on the radio
Be aware that all communications are monitored by Surfcom
Before Use
Do check that the radio is fully charged and working
Do secure unused radios in the patrol room
Do place the radio in the water-proof sleeves provided
On The Beach
Do
not
let the radio get wet or sandy
Do
not
leave the radio lying in the sand
Do
not
leave your radio unattended
In The Surf
Do
not
take your radio in the surf
At The End of The Day
Do put the radio away properly
Take it out of the water proof sleeve
Clean the radio if required
Turn off the radio
Place the radio in the proper charger in the patrol room
Do make sure there are no missing radios
If a Radio Gets Wet
Turn off the radio
Remove the battery
Allow all the parts to completely dry
Reassemble the radio
See if the radio is working, if not report the broken radio to the radio officer
If a Radio Breaks, Goes Missing, or Is Stolen
Inform the radio officer
