unnamedTamarama SLSC Surf Ski Clinic start the first week of November
Members have the choice of starting the clinic on Wednesday 2 November or Friday 4 November6 am start finishing at 7 am Tingira Beach, Rose Bay. The clinic involves eight sessions and members can choose either Wednesday or Friday and they can complete the clinic over one month by attending twice a week or over two months by attending once a week or a mixture of both. We are flexible. Members are asked to pay $50 and the club will cover the remainder. Skis, paddles, and PFDs are supplied. Members are also welcome to practise their new skills at the Shark Island Paddlers’ Time Trial every Saturday, 8 am Tingira Beach. To register your interest in the clinic contact Sue Jackson at
Club Training and Competitions
Board training, gym, swimming and sprint training is available. Improve your skills, fitness and make new mates. Schedules depend on trainers and conditions, usually 6am Friday morning, but email for details, register for updates here or contact Hugh on 0404 355 953.

2017 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships

February 25, 2017 @ 8:00 am – March 12, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
The State’s premier surf event has been held at Swansea Belmont on a number of occasion most recently for three consecutive years from 2008 to 2010.
The event attracts more than 7000 competitors from all over NSW, along with 600 volunteer officials and up to 15,000 family and spectators.

The Aussies! National Champs!

March 25, 2017 @ 8:00 am – April 2, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
In 2017 The Australian Surf Life Saving Championships will head back to North Kirra Beach from 25 March until 2 April. Across 9 days, over 7000 Surf Life Savers from 313 surf clubs will compete in over 400 events from Youth, Open and Masters category. More info.

Competition Entry

In order to compete in SLSA carnivals you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be financial and proficient for the current season SRC / Bronze Medallion
  • Meet the minimum patrol hours required for the competition season (January to December) minimum 25 hours for Active Members

All U15 & above competition entries are managed on a voluntary basis by Barry Brignall. Please ensure you request competition entries at least 5 working days before close of entries by email to Tamarama SLSC.

Safety Announcement from SLSA

The following safety initiatives were announced in August 2013 by SLSA with implementation dates as below:

•All surf boat rowers and sweeps must wear helmets – effective 1 January 2014.
•All surf lifesavers operating inflatable rescue boats both on patrol and in competition must wear lifejackets – effective 1 October 2014.
•All competitors at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships must hold the SLSA Bronze Medallion with Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) – effective 2015.
